Ankara's AI Vision: TÜBİTAK Leads Charge for National Digital Sovereignty

ANKARA – In a significant stride towards securing Turkey's digital future, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has officially launched its ambitious 'National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030' this week. This comprehensive roadmap, unveiled at a high-profile symposium in Ankara, signals a pivotal moment for the nation's technological aspirations, emphasizing self-reliance and strategic autonomy in the burgeoning field of AI.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, underscored the urgency of the initiative. The plan also outlines the establishment of regional AI hubs, with Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir earmarked as primary centers for collaboration between universities and the private sector.

Professor Ayşe Demir, an expert in AI ethics from Boğaziçi University, lauded the strategy's holistic approach. "This isn't just a technological blueprint; it's a societal one.
